Expanding on this idea… And also just my two cents.
Open up the comments section so readers can jot notes like we do. Highlight some text and bam, you get a comment, like, dislike float menu.
The icing on the cake would be to implement it in a way that beta readers and the author could talk in the comments section with each initial comment serving as a thread like system if multiple beta readers want to tag in on a thread they can.
Authors can point out spots they feel needs work as well. So it becomes more of a collaboration effort than a “Read this tell me what you think kthx.”
