Grouping and Sorting Notes | Features

I would like to be able to group my notes section. So I can see all characters and have them grouped by the stories they are in. (Characters in multiple stories would show up in each of the groups it belongs to). Characters without a story (abandoned characters) would be in a no project section.

The same would happen for the other note options.

Also sorting would be helpful too, especially in the interim to getting the grouping option.

You should be able to filter to achieve this. If you filtered by project or collection, then you should be able to see all notes that are relevant in that way, and add additional filters to narrow that down.

Pamela Koehne-Drube filtering is not the same as grouping, and it does not act the same.
When filtering it shows everything relevant to the options you selected, grouping would then group all of those results within their relevant sections with the number on top showing per grouping.

For instance, let’s say we filter for characters and I want to see all character in project A, B, C.

In the current setup it shows all of those with let’s say 10 out of 16 at the top with a check box for selection.

With grouping on for projects it would show up like this

3 out of 16
Project A
Character cards

5 out of 16
Project B
Character cards

2 out of 16
Project C
Character cards

The 16 is because the current system counts all cards in the system, but that could be changed to cards per project or whatever.

Sorting would then be able to be by project, word count, last worked on, etc.

I hope I am explaining this well, and do not mind giving more information.

Pamela Koehne-Drube That would be wonderful for in project viewing. I love though, that in Novlr I can see all notes from all projects in one space in the Note Library. I wasn’t clear I was talking about the Note Library, sorry about that. But yes for the in project setup as well!
