When drafting and editing, it’s sometimes useful to be able to highlight text that you want to return to later.

Many writers have requested a highlighter feature that is both tied to but can be separated from the commenting function and that allows for multiple colours based on a user-created key. i.e. blue highlight for character name, purple highlight for descriptions you’d like to improve in editing, etc.

Writers would like to be able to highlight without the requirement of commenting, but they would also like to be able to comment over the highlighted section and have the preset colour key visible in the comments panel with an option to filter between colours for easy access on the type of editing they’d like to do.

Yes please, I want to be able to do this all the time (would also be nice if this put a tag to the chapter or you could go somewhere to see all highlights and jump to the chapter area it is in.

I'm constantly just using the comment function with the blue to do this, but I have to enter the notes to see what each highlight really means. Sometimes, it's an actual note about something. Sometimes, it's to draw my attention to it to return to it. It would be so much easier if I had the function of multiple colors to draw my attention without having to investigate what I meant with each note.
