Notes are currently limited to the bottom of the chapter menu. We'd like to make the notes section more useful, and these are some of the ways we see that happening:

Sidebar view
Show notes in a separate sidebar view that can be viewed alongside your writing workspace. Good for referring to scenes, characters, or notes.

Images
Add image upload to notes for visual reference. If we add wiki-style linking, this could also serve as a reference point for image insertion later, keeping the writing workspace distraction-free, without formatting considerations.

Templates
Include a repository of pre-created templates for writers to choose from, including character sheets, worldbuilding templates, plot templates, and scene outlines.

Tagging
Tag your notes for easy filtering. This would allow you to see all notes related to a certain character, place, or event, or even see notes related to a specific stage in the editing process.

Folders
Sort your notes into folders for easy navigation. For example, all character templates could be sorted into a single folder, and you could create your own folders for ideas that you don't yet have a place for.

Drag and drop
Click and drag notes into your project and vice versa, allowing you to save snippets that don't fit in your scene or chapter for later, or immediately bring in scenes that you'd sent to notes straight into the manuscript.

Synopsis view
Be able to see the project and chapter synopses in a sidebar view without having to go back to the planning page to view them.

Upload references
Have a reference folder that allows you to upload external files, like PDFs and images

Icons
Add icons to differentiate between different types of notes and folders.
