Writers want to see a lot more detail and data on what and how they write. More analytics options requested include:
- Show the word count of highlighted text selections
- See word counts of primary and nested chapters as a whole section
- More detailed graphs that you can zoom into more
- Compare analytics to previous years
- Filterable analytics by year
- Weekly view
- An analytics section for notes
- See chapter word counts in the planning section
- Self reported analytics not tied to Novlr data
Are there any more analytics you'd like to see? Let us know!

One that I'd love to see is a per chapter word count coloured line graph for each PoV. The way I typically do that in other apps/scripts is to tag each scene to a PoV, then sum the word count for each PoV per chapter and draw one coloured line on the graph for them.
This is actually really useful for more complex stories to see the spread of your characters visually, and spot areas that are possibly problematic. This would need a PoV tag per scene as well though.
Likewise, I've experimented with line graphs representing chapter word count and chapter median scene length at the same time. Doing both helps you see at a glance big chapters due to lots of small scenes and big chapters due to one big scene.
Word variation and commonly used words, sentence length variation, complexity score, reading level score, dialogue vs non-dialogue ratio, sentiment analysis, frequency of hitting goals over time...
